Midrange drivers for multi-way speaker systems

Buying Guidance

Confirm the driver's rated frequency range overlaps correctly with your crossover's midrange band — a midrange driver chosen without checking crossover alignment can create audible gaps or overlaps with the woofer and tweeter/compression driver.

Maintenance

Midrange drivers typically see less physical excursion than woofers, so surrounds and spiders last longer — but still inspect for dust ingress around the dust cap, which affects midrange clarity disproportionately.
